Help!!! I am running on Windows XP with Windows Media Center as my main program for running my computers built in tv, music, photos, and otherwise. Today for some reason it has refused to open. It only shows up as a black screen with a popup box that reads "ehshell.exe Common Language Runtime Debugging error." It then says to debug, or cancel. Regardless of which you push, it freezes, and a box that says windows media crash reporting pops up. I have run virus scans, checked my settings, and can’t seem to find the source of the problem anywhere. I have also tried downloading upgrades on Microsoft. Any ideas of whats wrong or what setting got changed?

I used to have this problem when I downloaded some video codecs. If u instaled any recently i advise u to delete and instal different pack

when I use yahoo as my search engine I get this popup. iexplore.exe error message

Most computer errors are born in a part of your system which hardly anyone knows or understands - the registry. This is the central database of Windows, which actually stores some of your computer’s most important files and settings. Everything from your latest emails to your desktop wallpaper are kept in this database, making it one of the most used parts of the Windows system.Because it’s used so much, the registry database is actually prone to becoming corrupt and damaged, which makes Windows struggle to read the files inside it. Unfortunately, 100’s of registry files are corrupted every week and Windows has no way to protect against it - it’s this problem which causes most of your computer’s errors. The problem is that when these files are corrupted, your PC actually takes longer to read them and often can’t read them at all. This causes errors on your PC which seem to appear randomly. You can use a Registry cleaner. http://cleanup-comuter-run-perfectly.com Registry cleaners are tools which have been created to scan through the registry. They work by scanning each file and then checking to see if it’s corrupt or causing problems. If they find that it is broken, the registry cleaner will replace or fix the file for you to make your computer speed up and become free of errors. You should have a try! Good Luck!

make sure that you perform a virus,spy-ware and Trojan scan as your first priority. Run them in safe mode.

Right . I know this sounds stupid , but when my dad is in the house , the internet works prefectly fine. When he walks out of the house , it stops working !!! Im on netgear and its starting to piss me off !!! It says " Either the computer is not in range or is marked as hidden " WTF ?!?!?! Lmao

well you’ve sort of answered your own question, since the netgear as max range, so when you go outside there isnt a strong enough signal to get a signal outside of the house.
there is things you can do to improve the signal range, is to buy a external usb dongle for the laptop, this will help increase range.
eg link a netgear WG111 or if the netgear is a class G series, you could change the router to a class N series, but then you would need a class N adapter.

System restore only returns your registry settings to the date you choose. You will not lose any of your files. As to the runtime error, that may have something to do with your XP install - have you tried chkdsk in the Run command prompt? Or, tried the Repair feature on the install disk?

I have a Windows ME desktop from which I am trying to transfer data to an XP laptop. What I have tried so far:

Computer has a D-link Airplus DWL-G520 rev. B wireless adapter but it will not connect to my wireless network. Ran some troubleshooting software and searched on D-link website for help but to no avail.

A CD burner was physically installed into one of the available slots but the computer does not have software for burning. I tried downloading BurnAware, a free software program, but when trying to install it I get the error message "_regdll has caused an error in NMSDVDXU.DLL. _regdll will now close." and it will not install. I tried running a registry cleaner but it did not help.

Computer has no USB ports.

Is there some kind of cable I can use to directly connect this desktop computer to my new laptop and directly transfer data? Where can I buy one? The ME computer seems to have quite a few errors on it so hopefully there is no involved software installation which might not work.

Thank you very much, I appreciate any input!!

instead of trying wireless, plug in an Ethernet cable.

another choice
Null modem is a communication method that might work.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Null_modem

or
Notebook Hard Drive to Desktop Adapter (2.5" to 3.5")
