Help!!! I am running on Windows XP with Windows Media Center as my main program for running my computers built in tv, music, photos, and otherwise. For some reason for the last two months it has refused to open. It only shows up as a black screen with a popup box that reads "ehshell.exe Common Language Runtime Debugging error." It then says to debug, or cancel. Regardless of which you push, it freezes, and a box that says windows media crash reporting pops up. Recently it has been saying "application generated an exception that could not be handled. Process ID=0xb2c (2860), Thread ID= 0xec8 (3784) and ehshell.exe "no debugger found." I have run virus scans, checked my settings, and can’t seem to find the source of the problem anywhere. I have also tried downloading upgrades on Microsoft none of which have restored the program. Any idea on how i fix this without completely having to reset my computer?

this is a fairly common error for those trying to keep the media center updated. there’s a link to a fix below. good luck!

Hi I keep getting this error when I try to change the system configuration within msconfig

An Access Denied error was returned while attempting to change a service. You may need to log on as administrator account to make the specified changes.

I cant understand why cause I’ve always had admin privaliges

I’m using WinXP Pro SP3. I think I might of been using OEM before I chkdsk /r .. But I used the Pro disk to fix the disk so I think it may have changed from OEM to Pro.. Could this be why I’m getting this error and do u think another chkdsk /r but with an OEM disc might solve my problem or is something else likely to be the cause? Thanks in advance :) Thx for ur quick reply but I am an administrator, thats why I cannot understand why it tells me I’m not. It clearly says I’m a Computer Adminstrator :( I’m cabbaged
Sorry I’ll refraise. The error makes out that I’m not an administrator but if I go to user accounts it says I’m a Computer Administrator
Anyone???? lol Com’on guys/gals :) I’m sure its not that difficult lol
Still no ideas? Hmmm thppppppp! :P I’m thinking it might have something to do with NIS 2010.. Will check it out tomorrow and let ya know :) Goodnight peeps…

what you posted doesnt tell us anything other than your OS and processor info, you need to open the side of the case and look at the motherboard. see who the maker and model it is and do an internet search. basically you will either put in a PCI or a PCIe 1X card. if possible put in a Creative X-Fi card…

I’m in a trouble. I only want that license code.

There are a few - the most popular being a tool called "CCleaner". This can be downloaded from http://www.ccleaner.com and is will be recommended to you a lot.

The only problem with CCleaner and most other free tools is that they are free for a reason - they are not designed very well and will not find the largest number of problems inside the registry. This is a big problem which can stop your computer from functionining properly and is where many of the "registry horror stories" come from.

Although it costs $30, I’d recommend you use a cleaner called "RegCure". This will find 10X the number of errors that most free cleaners do because it’s been designed professionally. You can read about it at htp://www.fastregistryfixes.com/regcure_review.html

Can I delete the PC tools registry mechanic & install a new substitute? Is pc tools registry mechanic important? I have dell laptop (vista)3gbr, 2gh, 32 bit Thanks.

Do not be concerned, just listen and follow my directions in the links below.
I have been working with computers for 20 years, 10 of them professionally.
I have reviewed over 20 registry programs in my own research for my computer business.
There are many registry programs and most of them do not help much.
The windows registry is very fragile and must be handled as such.
The program I recommend WinASO, has never done any damage in many uses on many computers. It is free for the shareware version.

I use Avast anti virus, Spybot Search and Destroy and Malwarebytes Antimalware. All are free on download.com
No it is not important, and yes is is safe to delete PC tools registry mechanic.
Start-control panel-programs and features.
In the Source section you will find links on how to find, install, and use the best registry program I have ever seen. Also included is a general performance tune computer article that will keep your computer running in top notch shape and out of the computer shop.

Most computer errors are born in a part of your system which hardly anyone knows or understands - the registry. This is the central database of Windows, which actually stores some of your computer’s most important files and settings. Everything from your latest emails to your desktop wallpaper are kept in this database, making it one of the most used parts of the Windows system.Because it’s used so much, the registry database is actually prone to becoming corrupt and damaged, which makes Windows struggle to read the files inside it. Unfortunately, 100’s of registry files are corrupted every week and Windows has no way to protect against it - it’s this problem which causes most of your computer’s errors. The problem is that when these files are corrupted, your PC actually takes longer to read them and often can’t read them at all. This causes errors on your PC which seem to appear randomly. You can use a Registry cleaner. http://cleanup-comuter-run-perfectly.com Registry cleaners are tools which have been created to scan through the registry. They work by scanning each file and then checking to see if it’s corrupt or causing problems. If they find that it is broken, the registry cleaner will replace or fix the file for you to make your computer speed up and become free of errors. You should have a try! Good Luck!

Can someone please help me whit a computer problem first when I try to open something up it says "open with" and then it gives me a list of options for example "windows media player, java scrip, notepad, adobe reader ect……." that’s one problem the other problem is that when I click one it says "error system32\rundll.exe not found can someone plaese please help me……

There is a high chance a malicious spy-ware/virus might disguise itself as system32, rundll.exe
make sure that you perform a virus,spy-ware and Trojan scan as your first priority. Run them in safe mode.
